You Can Now Order 4 More Free COVID Tests by Mail
Update: This is the fifth round of free tests. Beginning September 25, every U.S. household can again place an order to receive four more free COVID-19 rapid tests delivered directly to their home. Before You Throw Out “Expired” Tests: Check to see if your COVID-19 tests’ expiration dates have been extended.
Free at-home COVID-19 tests are available again by mail. This is the fourth round of free tests. All U.S. households can order a total of four at-home COVID-19 tests that will be mailed directly to them for free.
Orders for this round of testing will begin to ship starting the week of December 19th and continue in the weeks ahead. The tests can be ordered on COVIDtests.gov. People who have difficulty accessing the internet or need additional support placing an order can call 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489) to get help in English, Spanish, and more than 150 other languages – 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. E.T., Monday to Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. E.T. on weekends.
Tests are also available at community testing sites, food banks and schools, and through Medicare. People covered by private health insurance plans can get fully reimbursed for eight tests per month.
