Book Southwest Flights in Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal
The Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal is a useful feature for those who have a Chase credit card, especially premium cards. You can use the Chase travel portal to book flights, hotels, cruises, and more. You can use Chase Ultimate Rewards points for your bookings, cash, or a mix of the two.
There are no blackout dates or issues with finding award space, because booking through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal is the same as a cash booking. And that also means that you will earn miles, even when booking with points.
When you you book with Ultimate Reward, you can get more value if you have Chase Sapphire Reserve® (1.5 cents-per-point), Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (1.25 cents-per-point), or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card (1.25 cents-per-point). With other Ultimate Rewards earning card you get a value of 1 cent-per-point.
One issue with the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal is that you can’t book with low-cost carriers such as Spirit, Frontier, Allegiant, Sun Country and Southwest. But as of yesterday (or maybe a few days earlier), Southwest fares are showing up in search results, but only Wanna Get Away and Wanna Get Away Plus fares.
Considering that Southwest is a popular airline with low fares on many routes, this is a big addition for those who book through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal. It was previously possible to do so by calling in, but I’m sure everyone prefers doing this online instead. You can also earn 5x points on airfare booked within the portal and 10x points on hotels and car rentals.
