Popular Bank is offering a bonus of up to $700 when you open new checking and savings accounts. This offer is only available in-branch in three states. Let’s see how this bonus works, and who is eligible.
How to Earn This Bonus
Earn up to $500 cash bonus by opening a new consumer checking account with new money and by completing the qualifying activities within 90 days of account opening. After the 90-day qualifying period has ended and the qualifying activities have been met, the cash bonus will be deposited into the new consumer checking account within 30 days. The cash bonus offer is as follows:
- $150 for Easy Access Checking
- Must complete 2 direct deposits totaling $500 or more AND
- 12 qualifying debit card transactions include purchases made pin based, signature based, and contactless (mobile or online).
- $300 for Everyday Checking
- Must complete 2 direct deposits totaling $1,000 or more AND
- 12 qualifying debit card transactions include purchases made pin based, signature based, and contactless (mobile or online).
- $500 for Prestige Checking accounts.
- Must complete 2 direct deposits totaling $2,500 or more AND
- 12 qualifying debit card transactions include purchases made pin based, signature based, and contactless (mobile or online).
Earn a cash bonus of $200 by opening a new Popular Savings account and funding the account within 30 days of account opening by making one or more deposits totaling at least $8,000 in new money. The $8,000 must be reflected in the end of day balance on day 30 and must be maintained for the following 2 statement cycles. The cash bonus will be deposited into the new Popular Savings account within 30 days after the qualification requirements have been met and verified.

Popular Bank is the new name for Banco Popular. This new bonus doesn’t have the previous lifetime language, so it should be available even for those who’ve had accounts in the past. They do seem to be Chex sensitive.
