Specialist tax firm, Forbes Dawson, has welcomed two new graduates to its growing team.
The Altrincham-based consultancy, which works with some of the UK’s most successful business owners and entrepreneurs, has appointed Tom Stockton and Matt Parker as trainee tax advisors.
Tom joins after securing a First-class degree in Mathematics at Lancaster University, while Matt studied Economics at the University of Manchester.
The pair will learn about all taxes, including personal and corporate, as part of their training to become qualified chartered tax advisors.
Matt said: “Forbes Dawson has a great reputation. I am determined to learn from the senior figures within the business and I am looking forward to developing my skills and knowledge under their expert guidance.”
Tom said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some of the best in the business.”
The appointments double the number of graduates Forbes Dawson has employed as trainees, after hiring Oxford graduate Marianne Cain in April, and Sarah Shrewsbury-Gee, a First-class Mathematics graduate, last year. The consultancy now has a team of 22.

Vypr, the Manchester-based product intelligence platform which provides global brands with quick and valuable consumer insight to either help bring successful new products to market or to improve their current ranges, has appointed Chris Williams as new CEO.
Chris has been with Vypr for two years as CFO and as part of the team which has trebled revenues since YFM Equity Partners invested in 2021.
Vypr has an enviable list of global customers in retail, food service and food and drink but has recently won customers in the health and beauty and professional services sectors. Next year will see the company offer its customers access to consumers in up to 39 international markets.

A Liverpool creative marketing agency has welcomed a new designer to its team, as it marks the start of its fourth year in business.
Having previously worked as a lead designer for the past six years, Paul Lowcock joins Poke at its Bold Street HQ, focusing on creative strategy, brand development, creative concepting, design development, motion/animation and graphic design.
The news comes as the business continues to expand at a rapid rate, having built a reputation for delivering thought provoking and high quality campaigns with a client roster including the National Football Museum, Liverpool Cathedral and B&M.

Reparo Finance has expanded its team with the appointment of Sam Handley to business development manager and the promotion of Jonny Hampson to commercial manager.
Manchester-based commercial finance provider, Reparo Finance, offers funding solutions for small businesses through its network of brokers nationwide. This new appointment and promotion bolsters the team, enabling Reparo to expand its partnerships and support more businesses to grow and succeed.
Sam brings with him a deep understanding of the industry and strong relationships having spent six years in a similar role for the bespoke financial advice offering of mutual, Wesleyan. He will now help Reparo to increase its presence across the North East of England and develop relationships in new territories.

Jonny Hampson has been with Reparo Finance for more than a year, a highlight during this time has been exhibiting at the NACFB Commercial Finance Expo 2023.
As commercial manager, Jonny will assist with Reparo’s business development function, drawing on previous experience in the banking sector, as well as taking on additional cross-departmental responsibilities including credit management.

A total of 14 graduates from North West universities have been recruited by Northwich-based bennettbrooks.
The newly employed graduates bring their skills and fresh perspectives to the firm as they start their journey to become qualified Chartered Accountants. The bennettbrooks Graduate Academy provides a supportive learning environment with a hybrid approach to training and development including college study, on the job training, 1:1 coaching and soft skills training.
Many of the bennettbrooks team started their careers as graduates.

North West housebuilder Redrow has welcomed 13 graduates to its 2023 Graduate Development Programme, helping to develop and futureproof talent in the property sector.
With around 15% of its overall workforce as trainees, each year Redrow employs graduates from across the UK, as they continue to inspire the next generation into housebuilding and help bridge the skills-gap. The two-year Graduate Development Programme nurtures leadership capabilities and the skills needed to build a successful career in construction.
Peter Kucins-cann, became interested in housebuilding when he was a painter and decorator and joined Redrow’s programme this year after attending the University of Lancashire. He said: “I knew that Redrow was a well established housebuilder with many career progression opportunities. So, when the opportunity came, I knew that it was the right one for me.”
Peter is one of the graduates participating in the Divisional Graduate Development Programme. During their first year, the cohort will rotate around every area of the business, allowing them to discover their strengths and where their interests lie.
