Better Offers for Delta Cards
American Express and Delta Air Lines launched improved welcome bonuses on all six credit cards alongside new benefits and annual credits.
But it is possible to find even better offers than what’s publicly available. When booking a flight on Delta.com, you often see a credit card offer at the checkout page. The offers shown here give you 20,000 less miles for the Delta SkyMiles Gold and Delta SkyMiles Platinum cards, but they come with an extra $400 credit. Check out the details below.
Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card
- Earn 50,000 Bonus Miles after spending $3,000 in purchases on your new Card in the first 6 months.
- You can also earn a $400 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 6 months.
- $0 Introductory Annual Fee For The First Year, Then $150
- Offer ends 3/27/2024.
Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card
- Earn 70,000 Bonus Miles after spending $4,000 in purchases on your new Card in the first 6 months.
- You can also earn a $400 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 6 months.
- Annual Fee: $350
- Offer ends 3/27/2024.
How to Find these Offers
To get these offers, you need to go to the Delta Air Lines website and go through the steps of booking a flight. At the final page, “Trip Summary”, you should see the offer under your itinerary. A dummy booking is sufficient, meaning that you don’t have to actually book a flight.
Check the ‘Apply for the Delta SkyMiles Gold American Express Card’ box and you’ll be taken to the application page, showing the same offer. Fill out the information, and submit your application.
If you want to possibly see similar offers for Delta SkyMiles business credit cards, go here and check the box for “I am a Business Owner”.
Eligibility
Here are the terms related to eligibility for the welcome bonus:
- Welcome offer not available to applicants who have or have had this or previous versions of this Card. We may also consider the number of American Express Cards you have opened and closed as well as other factors in making a decision on your welcome offer eligibility.
- If we in our sole discretion determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with the welcome offer in any way or that you intend to do so (for example, if you applied for one or more cards to obtain a welcome offer (s) that we did not intend for you; if you cancel or downgrade your account within 12 months after acquiring it; or if you cancel or return purchases you made to meet the Threshold Amount), we may not credit the welcome offer to, we may freeze the welcome offer credited to, or we may take away the welcome offer from your account. We may also cancel this Card account and other Card accounts you may have with us.
Guru’s Wrap-up
If you get one of these welcome bonus to show up while booking a Delta flight, it is definitely worth applying if you are eligible. Both of these offers are an improvement compared to the current elevated offers that are publicly available.
However, it could also be worth checking referrals from friends and family members, as they can earn a big referral bonus, on top of the welcome offer that you get. It’s worth noting that most American Express cards can now only refer personal Delta credit cards, and not business cards.
Let me know in the comments if you see similar offers for other Delta credit cards.
