Chase Offers Bonus for Setting Automatic Payments
Chase is offering existing cardholders bonus Ultimate Rewards points just for making automatic payments. It’s always a good idea to have automatic payments already on, so you never miss a credit card payment. It can heavily impact your credit score. And you can earn some bonus points as well, if you are targeted for this promotion.
There are two different offers that were sent out by Chase. One is for 5,000 bonus points, and the other for 8,000 bonus points. Both offers require you to make automatic payments from a Chase checking account.
Offer Details
The offer was delivered by email with one of these two subjects, depending on the offer you have:
- Get 5K bonus points with this limited-time offer
- Get 8K bonus points with this limited-time offer
So how does it work?
- Activate the offer received in your email by 05/08/2024
- Within 30 days of activation, set-up automatic payments for the credit card account listed in the email
- Payments must be set up from a Chase checking account through chase.com or the Chase Mobile app.
- Must make 3 on-time, automatic, consecutive monthly payments equal to or greater than your minimum payment due.
- Allow up to 8 weeks after your 3rd automatic payment for 5,000 or 8,000 bonus points to post to your account.
Important Terms
- You can receive only one Automatic Payments related bonus per calendar year and only one bonus per account.
- Coupon is good for one-time use.
- To qualify for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
- This promotional offer is non-transferable and applies only to the account ending in the last 4 digits referenced in this offer.
- The value of this offer may result in miscellaneous income received from Chase.

This offer seems to be going out for Ultimate Rewards earning credit cards. But, it’s possible that you might see similar offers for co-branded cards as well.
Make sure to read the details of the offer carefully so you can earn the bonus. You have to register first, and the set up automatic payments from your Chase checking account within 30 days of activation and make three consecutive monthly payments. You must pay at least the minimum payment amount.
However, it’s best to pay your balance in full every month. A minimum payment will avoid a late fee, but you still have to pay interest charges).
