American Express has launched a new transfer bonus where you can get 20% more Avios when transferring ThankYou points to Qatar Airways Privilege Club. Qatar Airlines has been using Avios since 2022, which makes it more useful overall. Avios are also used by British Airways, Iberia, Finnair, Aer Lingus, and Vueling.

This is a decent offer for those that have Amex Membership Rewards. You can use Qatar Avios for travel on Qatar Airways, or transfer them to other airlines that also use Avios as their currency. You can also redeem for travel on partner airlines like American Airlines or Alaska Airlines.
It’s always a good idea to familiarize yourself with a program before transferring points. Once transferred, you cannot move the points back to Citi ThankYou. So make sure you have a use case for them before transferring.
