Most Wired Hospitals Use Advanced Technology to Enhance the Patient Experience
West Orange, NJ, October 09, 2023- The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), has released their coveted Digital Health Most Wired Survey results for the 2023 collection period, recognizing 12 RWJBarnabas Health facilities with Most Wired status.
Among the more than 55,000 organizations surveyed by CHIME, RWJBarnabas Health ranked above peers in categories like analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. The survey assessed the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in healthcare organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.
Four RWJBarnabas Health facilities; Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, RWJUH in New Brunswick, and RWJUH Hamilton, earned Performance Excellence Level of 10, the highest level of recognition, in the Acute category.
Performance Excellence Level 9 in the Acute category was achieved by Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, Community Medical Center in Toms River, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, RWJUH Rahway and RWJUH Somerset in Somerville. At the same time, Newark Beth Israel in Newark was awarded Performance Excellence Level of 8, and Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick was recognized with a Performance Excellence Level of 7.
“We are honored to be recognized with Most Wired status to highlight our continued efforts of enhancing the patient care experience through advanced technologies and digital innovations,” said Robert T. Adamson, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for RWJBarnabas Health. “Strategic deployment of advances in technology and IT systems allows us to realize meaningful outcomes including increasing patient access to healthcare services, improving the patient experience, and reducing costs across the entire system, reflecting RWJBarnabas Health’s commitment to improving healthcare.”
As success in digital health increasingly determines the quality of patient care, the scope of the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired survey reflects the progress of leading healthcare providers as they envision the future of health and care. The future of health and care that we envision over the next 30 years will be a world apart from what we have now. Driven by emerging technology, we should expect that digital innovation—enabled by fully interoperable data, artificial intelligence, and open, secure platforms—will drive much of this change. The Digital Health Most Wired survey and recognition program serves as a comprehensive “Digital Health Check-up” for healthcare organizations across the world and will help move healthcare forward rapidly.
“We are proud to recognize RWJBarnabas Health’s exceptional dedication to digital health excellence,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell. “Their pioneering performance in the industry not only inspires other organizations by example but also provides patients around the world with better care.”
