Other cases will determine governments’ ability to enact reasonable restrictions on who can own guns (the pending case involves those accused of domestic violence), how much federal judges get to second-guess regulatory agencies, and what states and localities can do to deal with homelessness.
This court has a conservative supermajority, but it’s still capable of surprises — and how it crafts its rulings can be as important, if not more, than the bottom line. My job is to translate that for you from legalese into English, fast but accurately.
