Marriott Rolling Out Suite Night Awards Changes
In November, Marriott revealed upcoming changes to its Suite Night Awards including the renaming of this benefit to Nightly Upgrade Awards.
Today the company announced that this benefit is rolling out in a phased system update beginning this week, so changes should be visible soon in your accounts.
Members will start to see the new name, as well as more premium rooms and suites across the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio available for upgrades. Members will also be able to now use this upgrade benefit at The Ritz-Carlton, EDITION, Aloft, Element and Protea hotels.
As always, members will be able to choose their preferred room type when requesting and redeeming Nightly Upgrade Awards. Make sure you have the latest update for the Marriott Bonvoy app in order to see the changes.
Suite Night Awards Changes
As a reminder, here are the details that I sent in November outlining the changes:
- Nightly Upgrade Awards will be the new name for Suite Nights Awards to better align with the benefit. Nightly Upgrade Awards are one-night confirmable upgrades to a premium room or suite.
- Members will be able to choose from five additional brands when redeeming their awards: The Ritz-Carlton, EDITION, Aloft, Element and Protea Hotels
- Nearly 20% more premium rooms and suites will be available for upgrades across all participating brands with features like oceanfront rooms, balconies, and extra space.
- Members will receive notification regarding the status of their Nightly Upgrade Awards request closer to check-in, starting three days prior to arrival.
