Americans spend an average of 373 hours behind the wheel of their personal vehicles annually, according to the AAA Foundation. And while driving is a necessity, it can be inconvenient and pricey.
Factors like gas prices and traffic tend to have an effect on driving experience.
Personal finance company WalletHub compared the 100 largest cities in the nation across 30 key indicators of driver-friendliness in four key dimensions: Cost of ownership and maintenance, traffic and infrastructure, safety, and access to vehicles and maintenance to determine the best and worst U.S. cities to drive in.
When the results were tallied, Jacksonville took the top spot in Florida and 10th overall, three spots ahead of Tampa.
Corpus Christi, Texas is the best city to drive in, with Raleigh, North Carolina, Boise, Idaho, Plano, Texas and Scottsdale, Arizona rounding out the top 5, according to WalletHub.
