I’m attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
My schedule is packed with meetings — but the scenery in the Swiss Alps is a stunning distraction.
Taking the train from Zurich to Davos makes for a picturesque journey.
Some of the world’s wealthiest and most powerful people are landing in Davos, as the Swiss ski resort gets ready to host the World Economic Forum.
The annual gathering brings nearly 3,000 world leaders together to discuss the world’s most pressing issues.
This is my first time attending the winter meeting in Davos. While I’ve got a schedule packed with meetings with everyone from top executives to government ministers, I’m also completely blown away by the beauty of this village.
Snow-clad Alps, ice-laden roofs of tiny houses perched on the mountains and tall trees make it look straight out of a fairy tale. Yes, I am a “Frozen” fan.
My top tip: take the train. The journey from Zurich to Davos gives you some of the best views. I put my headphones on and listened to Hans Zimmer as the train took me through the breathtaking Alps.
I checked into my apartment quite late and could only spot a half broken snow man in the backyard. However, this morning I woke up to the most beautiful views.
I’m not a morning person but the views in Davos got me out of my apartment for a walk. I’d take walks every morning if I had views like this.
Over the next few days, participants and attendees will discuss everything from the several geopolitical crises facing the world, along with the many economic issues.
Sounds full on? Well, they can just pop out and grab a breathtaking view of the Alps before their next meeting.
