Centurion Lounge Coming to Newark Liberty International Airport
American Express revealed today its plans to expand the Centurion Lounge Network to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). That means that eligible cardmembers will soon be able to access these lounges at all three tri-state area airports.
We heard rumors of this lounge a couple of years back, and it was then mentioned then it could start welcoming guests in 2023 or 2024. But it will take a a bit longer than for guests to finally enjoy The Centurion Lounge at EWR. The lounge is expected to open its doors in 2026.
Platinum and Centurion Card members traveling through New Jersey will find many new and exciting features inspired by New Jersey’s history and culture, including the following:
Jazz Bar and Piano Lounge: Guests can visit a cocktail bar inspired by the 20th Century jazz era in New Jersey and a piano lounge featuring live music
Terrace with City Skyline Views: A 1,400 square foot indoor terrace overlooking Newark Airport’s airfield and a view of Manhattan
Archival Collection: A quiet reprieve featuring artifacts and antiques that celebrate New Jersey’s rich culture and history of innovation
In addition to special local touches, the new lounge will be home to signature amenities including a space designed for families with small children, complimentary food and beverage offerings that will feature a locally inspired menu and signature cocktails1, premium restrooms and shower suites, dedicated workstations, several seating areas and access to high-speed Wi-Fi.
With this year being the 10 Year Anniversary of The Centurion® Network, American Express is continuing to expand. There are now more than 40+ locations worldwide.

The Centurion Lounge is the signature lounge program within the broader American Express Global Lounge Collection, which provides The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, The Platinum Card® from American Express, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card, and Amex Centurion Members, with access to more than 1,400+ lounges around the world, in 500 plus cities across 140 countries and counting (Terms Apply). Card Members can search and find lounge locations within the Global Lounge Collection through the Find A Lounge page. This tool is available online and in the Amex app. They can also check into select Centurion Lounges through the mobile check-in tool within the American Express App.
