Get Bonus for Citi Premier and Strata Premier
You should have heard by now that Citi will launch a new credit card next week. The Citi Strata Card is expected to replace Citi Premier and both cards are quite similar.
We already have most of the details about the new Citi Strata premier card, including bonus eligibility. The terms on the new card state the following:
“Bonus ThankYou® Points are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a Citi Premier ® or a Citi Strata Premier ℠ account in the past 48 months.”
So bonus eligibility on the new Citi Strata Premier card is based on when you last received a Citi Premier bonus. If you have not received a bonus in the last 48 months, then it should be possible to apply for Citi Premier now, and then Citi Strata Premier next week when it launches.
You still have not earned a new account bonus at that point so you should be eligible to earn a bonus for the Citi Strata Premier card. You can then start working on both bonuses. It’s possibly best to start working on the Citi Strata Premier bonus first, since that card has Citi Premier language. Citi Premier on the other hand doesn’t mention Citi Strata Premier in its bonus eligibility terms.
Learn how to apply for the Citi Premier card, and keep in mind that today might the last day to do so. This card is supposed to go away on May 9, and then Citi Strata Premier will become available on May 16.
