IHG is rolling out a targeted promotion that makes earning elite status more accessible, and even affordable. For a limited time, eligible members can buy IHG One Rewards points that count toward both elite status and redemptions. Check out the details below and see if you are targeted.
Offer Details
From December 16 to December 31, 2024, IHG One Rewards members can purchase points that qualify for elite status while also being redeemable for rewards. Targeted members can buy enough points to maintain their current status or even move up to a higher level.
If you hold an IHG One Rewards cobranded credit card, you’ll also enjoy an additional 20% discount on point purchases. As a reminder you need:
- 40,000 elite qualifying points for IHG One Rewards Gold status
- 60,000 elite qualifying points for IHG One Rewards Platinum status
- 120,000 elite qualifying points for IHG One Rewards Diamond status
That means that IHG One Rewards Premier and Premier Business cardholders, who already receive automatic Platinum Elite status, can purchase 120,000 elite qualifying points for $800, or just $640 after the 20% cardholder discount. That would be enough to earn IHG One Rewards Diamond status for 2025.
