Amex Gold Card Annual Fee Going Up to $325?
The American Express® Gold Card is one of the best products out there for travel and everyday expenses. The card often had a big welcome bonus and it earns 4X on popular categories such as restaurants and dining, and 3X on flights booked directly with airlines and amextravel.com.
On top of that it offers other valuable benefits such as $120 annual dining credit, $120 Uber Cash annually and $100 credit for The Hotel Collection.
With an annual fee of $250, that could seem like a bargain. So it has been rumored for quite some time now that an annual fee increase could be coming. The last fee increase on this card was back in 2018 when it went from $195 to $250.
American Express has revamped many credit cards recently, and in most cases the annual fees have gone up. The latest examples are the Business Gold card, and Hilton Business card. American Express has also said that it plans to refresh more than 40 products globally this year.
Now the latest indication of an annual fee increase is this qwww link that shows the Amex Gold Card with a $325 price tag. From what I see on that page, there are no other changes to the card besides the annual fee. But I would expect some kind of update to the benefits as well, so it can be marketed as an improvement.
American Express usually shows upcoming credit card bonuses or changes at URLs that start with qwww. It’s not a guarantee that these changes will go live, but it happens more often than not. The new Hilton credit card offers for example showed up a few weeks earlier through qwww links. And also the new Marriott Business card 5 Free Night offer.
