Easier Option to Generate Chase Referrals
Chase has made it easier for eligible cardholders to generate referral links. There’s now a new feature on the Chase website and Chase app, where you can quickly generate referrals.
Until now you could do the same thing here. But you have to enter some of the card info every time, in order to generate a referral link.
The new feature, which might have been around for a while, lets you log in to your account and you can then quickly get referral just by selecting an eligible card.
You can select a card from the drop-down menu on top, and it will update the referral link which you can copy and share. Only card that are eligible for referrals will show in the drop-down menu.
The same feature is available in the app. Just tap “More” at the bottom of the screen and then “Refer a friend”.
Guru’s Wrap-up
This option makes it easier to quickly see all your eligible cards in one place and to generate referrals.
However, it’s important to note that there are tax implications with referrals. You will not receive a 1099 on points earned from a Chase signup bonus, but you will receive one for referral bonuses. Chase will usually put a valuation of 1 cent per point on mile, and that goes for Ultimate Rewards as well as United miles or Marriott points.
