Loungepedia, an Airport Lounge Discovery Platform
A new tool called Loungepedia launched on January 30, and it positions itself as a LoungeBuddy replacement which ceased to exist on that same date.
Loungepedia is a community-powered database of airport lounges all around the world, designed to step in where LoungeBuddy left off. This tool is only available as an iOS app for now. There’s no desktop, or Android version.
They told me that “at the moment, we’re prioritizing our iOS launch to ensure a smooth and optimized experience for our users. Our team is focused on refining the app, gathering feedback, and making any necessary improvements before expanding to additional platforms. That being said, we absolutely recognize the importance of bringing our app to Android, and it’s already in our development pipeline. While we don’t have an exact release date just yet, we’re committed to making it available as soon as possible after the iOS launch.”
Here are some of the features, as shared with me by the founder of the Loungepedia app:
- Personalized Lounge Access: Add your credit cards to the app, and Loungepedia will instantly show you which lounges you can access worldwide.
- Seamless Rewards Integration: Maximize your rewards and elite status by knowing exactly where you can relax before a flight
- Comprehensive Lounge Listings: Browse a curated list of airport lounges with details on locations, amenities, and opening hours.
- User-Friendly Interface: Designed intuitively to make lounging effortless
I have not used the app myself, but from a few quick reviews in our Facebook Group, it seems that the app is still in the early stages and it will need more work to really become a replacement for LoungeBuddy.
