Amex Offers for New Card Members
Since 2012, Amex Offers have been a valuable benefit for American Express cardholders. These card-linked offers might not be as easily scalable as they used to, but we still see lots of great deals from time to time.
Now American Express has revealed some backend changes for the platform. One of those changes includes offers for new card members, which is something that we first noticed late last month.
American Express now says that this will be an ongoing trend as they have new targeting capability available to merchant advertisers on the platform. Certain new eligible U.S. Consumer Card Members will have the ability to be targeted with unique Amex Offers.
Those offers currently include Walmart, ExxonMobil, Gap and SeatGeek. You will see these offers marked as “New Card Offer” and will be available as early as five days from being issued a Card. New eligible Card Members must be issued a new Card by October 16, 2024, and meet the offer terms and conditions, including to enroll in the Offer by the offer end date, and meet qualifying purchase criteria in order to see these offers.
But American Express says that this capability will be available to participating merchants moving forward, so we may see different offers in the near future.
