New American Express Centurion Lounge in Mexico City
American Express has revealed this week that it will open a fourth Centurion Lounge at Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City.
The new 8,400 square feet lounge will be located in Terminal 1 and will start welcoming gests on August 1, 2024. The lounge will be open daily from 5: 00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. CST.
The new Centurion Lounge features signature amenities, such as dedicated private phone booths, shoe cleaning services, comfortable seating areas for all types of travelers, mixology and bar, and Wi- Fi.
The space offers the exceptional service American Express is known for and will celebrate the warmth of Mexican culture with a locally inspired menu created by renowned chef Jonatan Gómez Luna, who was recently awarded with a Michelin star for his restaurant Le Chique in Cancun.
Eligible Card Members will also be able to enjoy Jonatan Gómez Luna’s dishes at all of the Centurion Lounges in Mexico, including three additional lounges in Mexico City and two in Monterrey, later this year.
“We see incredible demand for the Centurion Lounges in Mexico City, with the majority of our eligible Card Members in Mexico having visited at least one of the lounges during their travels,” said Audrey Hendley, President of American Express Travel. “The opening of our fourth Centurion Lounge in Mexico City is an important milestone as we continue to grow the global footprint of our Centurion Lounge Network and provide Card Members with a premium experience to start their trip.”
American Express already has three other Centurion Lounges in Mexico City. There are two in Terminal 1 and another one in Terminal 2. These lounges weren’t originally branded as Centurion Lounges. But that changed a couple of years ago. They now feature many of the amenities that you find at Centurion Lounges stateside.
Recent and Future Openings
American Express has added a few lounges this year with the latest being at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in Terminal 2. In February, the largest Centurion lounge opened at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
Amrican Express has also revealed a new lounge that will open at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in 2026. Internationally, another Centurion Lounge will open at Haneda Airport in Tokyo in 2025.
Accessing Centurion Lounges
You can access this lounge and other Centurion Lounges if you have The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, The Platinum Card® from American Express, or the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card when flying Delta on the same day.
