Azores To Launch 3 New Flights to North America
A Portuguese airline will soon expand its offerings in North America with new routes to three major cities. Azores Airlines will launch three nonstop services from Porto using its fleet of Airbus A321neo aircraft.
Currently the airline flies 11 routes to various North American destinations, all originating in the Azores, an autonomous region of Portugal and an archipelago in the mid-Atlantic.
However, the new flights will be flying out of mainland Portugal, as reported by Aviation Week. Azores Airlines will fly to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) from Porto Airport (OPO) in the summer of 2024. Weekly service will begin June 1, 2024 for Toronto, June 3, 2024 for New York, and June 4, 2024 for Boston.
Azores Airlines already serves Boston, New York JFK and Toronto from Ponta Delgada, the capital of the Azores, and Terceira, an island in the archipelago. They also offer flights to JFK from Funchal, Madeira, another autonomous region of Portugal.
